There are many children in our community, nation and world who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need of a sense of security, warmth and comfort that a blanket of their own can help bring.
The Blankets of Love Crafters' Club is open to anyone who enjoys quilting, sewing, crocheting and knitting. We are also willing to teach anyone with a willingness to learn! We have a desire to use our gifts to lovingly make new blankets and afghans for children ranging in ages from preemie to teenagers.
Blankets of Love began in 2005. To date, we have donated over 500 blankets to service groups such as Project Linus (http://www.projectlinus.org) and Families United Inc., a local social services agency. We have also sent blankets to Ukraine to be distributed in an orphanage there.
We meet on the third Tuesday of every month from 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. We sometimes meet at other times as well, so call to find out when additional meeting times may be scheduled. If you have any questions or would like to join us, please call Sandy at (765)-762-6382.
